Take me down to the Panama City

3/12 - JG: a 5:30am wake-up call takes us to another chicken bus and a ferry which takes us through central Costa Rica and over to the east coast to our final stop of Cahuita near the Panamian border.

Cahuita is a minimalist town, and probably what Montezuma was like 15 years ago. No luxury hotels, no tourist information booth, no shuttle buses. We find a serviceable hotel room and settle in for a couple of low key days before the bus into Panama.

On 3/14, we take a quick bus to Sixaola at the Panamanian border. After a somewhat lax and bizarre process to enter the country, we take a shuttle about 90 minutes to Almirante, where we further take a small ferry boat to the Bocas del Toro province in northwest Panama.
